Out of Character: Sorry this took so long to put through! I was looking for the music to go along with it, and trying to smooth things out for the Cross Examination. For the music, it would probably be best if you opened it in a new window so you don't have to keep switching back and forth. The samples are pretty short too, so sorry if you have to keep replaying it.Music: *Apollo Justice: Announce the Truth*Judge: (bangs gavel three times) Order! Order! Order! It appears that Mr. Lardking
is correct! Detective Gumshoe, what is the meaning of this? Explain to the court how the knife could have been found sticking out of the victim's back while being in the hands of the defendant at the same time!
Kana: (beaming) Great job, Dee! Looks like you've found that contradiction after all!
*nudges Darkling* Looks like you just needed some motivation to move you along!
Gumshoe: (scratching the back of his head) Actually...
JPop: (slamming his hand on the Prosecutor's Bench) Objection! Your Honor, this is an absolute
waste of time! What difference does it make whether the knife was still inside the victim's body, or in the defendant's hands? We're here to discu--
Gumshoe: (interrupting and looking downcast) Hey guys, I--
Darkling: (slamming his own hands on the Defense's Bench) Objection! The location of the knife is extremely important, Your Honor! How are we supposed to trust the reliability of the Detective if he can't even remember where the murder weapon wa--
????: Now wait just
ONE MINUTE!*All eyes in the courtroom settle back onto the Witness's Stand, where Gumshoe is visibly upset.Gumshoe: At least let me explain before all of you try to make me look like an idiot!
...
...
...
Gumshoe: ...Okay. (frowns) I have to apologize to the court again. I forgot to mention that there were
two knives found at the crime scene.
*The jury starts to murmur, but the Judge quickly brings order with his gavel.*Judge: Mr. Gumshoe! This is a court of law! How could you forget to mention something as
simple as a second knife at the crime scene?
JPop: Detective, you're making me regret calling you up to the stand. I'm afraid this will not bode well for your next salary evaluation.
*Detective Gumshoe winces and motions to say something else, but the piercing eyes directed at him quickly silences any words.*Judge: Detective, you will testify about the second knife that was found at the crime scene. Do
not leave any details pertaining to this case out. Understood?
Gumshoe: ...Y-Yes, sir.

Cross-Examination: Detective Gumshoe
"The Second Knife"---
Music: Apollo Justice: Examination ~ Moderate---
Gumshoe: First, I'd like to apologize for not bringing it up sooner.Darkling: Hold it! ... Well... Be careful next time, Detective!
Gumshoe: ...Um. Alright, pal. I will.
---
Gumshoe: Like I said before, when we arrived on the scene of the crime, the victim was on the ground near the Teacher's Lounge with the knife in his back.Darkling: Hold it! Detective, are you absolutely sure that the knife that was used to murder the victim was the one found on the body?
Gumshoe: It sure was! But there was
one odd thing that the autopsy just recently discovered. It's not written on the report because we just found out about it a few minutes ago.
Darkling: And what was the odd thing that was discovered?
Gumshoe: The victim was stabbed
twice. We can tell this because there were two cut paths inside the victim's body. When the first knife was removed, it left a cut path. Now unless you insert it back
precisely how it went in, another path will be made by the reinsertion. But do you want to know the real kicker, pal?
Darkling: (
I'm not sure I do, but...) What is it?
Gumshoe: One of the knives was longer than the other. The longer knife had no serrated grooves, since the path was cut clean. The longer knife appears to be the knife that first made the penetration.
Darkling: But the only knife that we have in our Court Record is the serrated knife which is 6 inches long... It looks kind of damaged too...
Gumshoe: That's right, pal. So the knife you have in your Court Record wasn't the first knife that went in! As for the damage, there weren't any fragments of the serrated knife inside the victim's body. The damage must have happened some other time.
JPop: ...
Darkling: So if this serrated knife went in second, then that who had the--
Music: Stops.
*Next to Darkling, Kana gasps suddenly realizing...*JPop: Ha, ha, ha... Poor Ling, digging himself into holes. I wonder
who could have been holding the knife that first made it's way into the victim's body? Detective, if you can tell me the answer, then I'll put in an excellent word for you! Now where was this knife?
Darkling: (
Please don't say that it was in--)
*Kana gently squeezes Darkling's hand.*Gumshoe: The defendant's hands.
Updated Evidence:- Yuta's Autopsy Report
Time of Death: 1:00 - 1:10. Stabbed in the back in such a way to cause instant paralysis. Blood loss lead to death. Strangled prior to death, and has head trauma due to a fall, but knife wound was the ultimate cause of death. Two knives were used to stab the victim; the first knife was long and smooth, while the second was serrated, causing much more internal damage.
- Serrated Knife
Sharp, and about 6 inches long, there are traces of blood along the serrated grooves. One of the grooves is missing. Was the second knife used to stab the victim. Created more internal injuries than the first knife. Found on victim's body.
New Evidence:- Butterfly Knife
The first knife that went into the victim's body. Is longer than the second serrated knife that penetrated afterwards.

Judge: The court will now take a 15 minute recess. Afterwards, we will continue the rest of the Cross Examination. Both the Prosecution and Defense may use this time to organize their case. Bailiff, please bring the defendant to my office.
