Out of Character: It's evening. Josh has finished working for the day, and it (just) turned dark outside.

"Thank you. I'll be there as soon as possible." Josh replied and ended the call.

Not wasting any time, Josh jumped up and immediately headed towards Cerena's place. The walk only took him 10 minutes this time. As he approached the door, Josh thought it was funny: Cerena had given him plenty of time and yet he felt like there was no time to lose.

Having calmed down a bit, Josh inhaled deeply and knocked on the door.

Cerena had sensed Josh's approach and was ready to open the door a few moments after he knocked. She smiled.

"Josh," she greeted him. "Please, come in. I, ah, I think we should talk in my room," she said, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. "Carr should be returning soon, and I don't think we should be interrupted. It's this way."

She gestured in the direction of her room.

"Josh," Cerena greeted him.

"Hello, Cerena." Josh replied as he bowed down his head a little.

"Please, come in. I, ah, I think we should talk in my room," Cerena said. "Carr should be returning soon, and I don't think we should be interrupted. It's this way."

"Alright." Josh said and followed her to her room. "So, how have you been doing lately?"

"I've been well," Cerena said, leading Josh to her room and opening the door. "It's been a little quiet at the spaceport recently, though. I think rumours of Rebel activity in the Hegemony are starting to discourage casual space traffic. I may have to start looking for a new job if this keeps up. And how about you?" she asked, closing the door behind them. "Have things been busy at the repair shop?"

"And how about you? Have things been busy at the repair shop?"

"Not really." Josh answered. "Things have been even more quiet last couple of days. It definitely looks like things are changing around here..."

Josh paused for a moment before he continued. "To be honest, that has been one of several factors that influenced my decision."

Cerena smiled, even as she felt her heart irrationally start to quicken again. Sternly, she recited the first tenet of the code to herself - there is no emotion; there is peace - and concentrated briefly on slowing her heartrate back down again.

But his words indicated that he was going to agree...

She smiled and waited for him to continue.

"I've given it a lot of thought," Josh continued, "and every time I come to the conclusion that there are less and less things keeping me here on Rudrig. I start to feel more alienated here..."

Josh stopped for a moment and bowed his head down a little. "Well, that's not completely true. I've never really felt comfortable here. This place just doesn't feel like a 'home' to, if you know what I mean. I tried adapting my lifestyle to this place, but it just hasn't been that simple."

"Maybe I have said this earlier, but lately I'm starting to long for something in my life... A purpose, a goal." Josh looked at Cerena and smiled. "And just then, you show up! I guess you and Carr are right. Perhaps everything does happen for a reason."

Josh straightened his back. "I have very little knowledge of the Force, but if it is indeed guiding us, as you say, then it has lead both our paths to this point. And that's why... I accept your offer."

Cerena let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding. So much of what he'd said resonated with her - looking for a 'home', looking for a purpose. The Force must have brought them together. She felt positive about the possibilities.

"Then I accept you as my apprentice, Josh Kenaran," she said, quietly. "I promise that I will do my best to guide you on the path of the Jedi Order, to a full knowledge and understanding of the Force. I'm..." She paused, then laughed quietly despite the gravity of the moment. "I'm glad you accepted, Josh. Something tells me that this was the right decision... for both of us."
