Yeah, I was assuming that when Makie's in human form, she's undetectable to CEMA's celestial scanners, but she's also limited to her human senses. The fact that Nanoka is reaching out with her celestial awareness at the moment should probably be alerting CEMA to the fact that she's starting to reach her full potential, for example. (I should bring that up in the RP - unless Futaba's lab is also shielded against CEMA's scanners, which is entirely possible.)

Anyway, to get back to my original point, I was wondering how Makie knew where her celestial powers were required during that time when she was hiding in human form with Zenzo, but it makes sense that she might have gotten 'assignments' from a higher celestial power, or watched the news and noticed a trouble spot, or something.

And as you said, as soon as she reverts to human form, she drops off CEMA's scanners. But there would always be a blip of celestial activity when she teleports back home and then changes to human form. Even just a momentary flash of celestial energy in the same area over a period of years would probably be enough to interest CEMA. Maybe that's how they focused their attention on the area where Makie and Zenzo lived, and chose to abduct Koshiro.

Are there many angels assigned to protect Earth?

I think Makie can adjust her state in human form. In fact she literally locked herself into the human body to hide. She had to remember and re-awaken herself, which was a dangerous step to do. So in that period she was not in the position to do her duties. Which might get her into trouble with celestial authorities: I left that open. Not unlike Mizuho was punished for making too intimate contact with a human (Kei) in "Onegai sensei".

She would sense urgencies. A CEMA scanner picks up a certain energy that a celestial radiates. But that has nothing to do with a celestial sensing an urgency. And yes, I was also considering that she was assigned by being contacted. If the means of contacting a celestial are "inter-dimensional", CEMA would be in no position to detect it, because it would not travel through Earth's space/time to reach Makie.

~

Now it would be possible to detect her even in human form - in fact they did detect her in Tokyo. She isn't really hiding any more. There isn't any point for her in doing so anyway.

~

I have no real concept of how many angels in which way protect Earth. One idea was that there is a always one pair: one male and one female. Each for a certain assigned period.

Makie hinted that there are not enough Angels to protect all worlds out there in all dimensions. It also seems that the male Angel of Earth 'died' in the process of absorbing the 'atom bomb' over Berlin/Germany towards the end of "World War 2" (in the omake universe).

Makie is 333 years old and is on Earth for over 200 years. So she arrived around the late 1780s.

Hmm, yes, she did seal herself away quite deeply - with all of those pieces of jewellery required for her to re-awaken. So it stands to reason that she did that to be undetectable. But now, even in human form, she still gives off a certain celestial energy signature, because she still has access to her powers. That makes sense.

=o I held off Ikuko suggesting the same thing, contacting the angel instead of attacking. However she wanted to ask if the angel would share some of its power =D

Nakamura doesn't even have any idea what he'd do with an angel if he caught one, does he? He has no idea how to harness or transfer an angel's power to a human being. And, of course, Makie has shown that capturing an angel isn't an easy prospect in the first place.

I don't think he has any means to do so yet. Makie would be a "CEMA guinea pig" for his scientists, if they could keep her imprisioned/retained that is. Which they likely have no means to do so either, unless they damage her so much, that she is 'bereaved of her powers' to fight/teleport, but still alive.

CEMA are pretty much like nowadays humans and their "animal testing". Humans usually need to destroy, or at least risk severe harm of the testing objects. Be it humans, or animals for medication, cosmetics etc...

Leaving open, what happens to a human ~if~ they manage sth like an artifical energy/gene transfer. Of course they could try conventional things like 'breeding', or gene experiments... However only with a heavily injured celestial entity.

Actually, CEMA sent Raptors 2 and 3 against Makie. She destroyed Raptor 2 first, and has now destroyed Raptor 3.
Ah, right, Also corrected the other post, where I said "Raptor 1".

I don't do that often, so savor the moment: lol

He was watching another typically strange anime show but, without the benefit of a Kana-provided translation, he had only the sketchiest idea what was going on. There was some sort of female angel flying around, being hunted by a military agency. The angel kept shifting back into (naked) human form and making out with a woman in a French maid outfit.

Hell, who needs to know the story? Darkling thought to himself, appreciatively, as the angel and the maid started kissing again.
I didn't know that it was already shown on television =D

I know that we somehow mean to reach an end in this omake. i am just wondering if Nanoka is supposed to stay dead? I had a... uhm... 'resurrection ritual' popping up in my mind, but it's out of the question >_>

So are we going for a happy, or the most messed up end?

I also just had an idea popping into my mind how to end the omake in a virtual audio play...

'The End'

No, she'll be coming back eventually. When Shiro kissed her in Futaba's lab, it awakened her celestial nature, making her physical shell less important. Her spirit is currently drifting around, completely unaware of its surroundings. I don't know exactly what's going to bring her back yet.

So, do you want to continue with the WFD omake? I'd have no problems ending it at this point - even though interesting things are still open, like Makie's punishment, Nanoka's development etc...

However I was thinking that I sort of dominated the setting creation of both RPs and that ~you~ might want to come up with a setting this time? (WF related or sth completely different)
