These days I feel like slowly going crazy... I watched "Ayashi no Ceres" again and I feel like WF needs an Omake for a change! >_<

Our characters are all so reasonable and restrained, acting in a "normal" world.
Makie is some kind of angel. A secret organisation - likely the one Kenshin's father works for - created a special persocon that is meant to kill, or aduct angels...

<_<

>_>

Input? Anyone?

Sure, I'll bite. Makie is actually a powerful celestial being exiled to Earth in human form (and currently unaware of this fact). There are agencies (like the one that Kenshin's father works for) who are aware of Makie's true nature, and want to monitor the development of Makie's offspring with a human (Zenzo Saeki). So they created a persocon infused with the power of an angel (a TenShi model) and 'arranged' for Makie to purchase that persocon to look after her daughter.

Shiro's 'White Feathers' directive is to watch for angelic or demonic tendencies in Nanoka, and terminate her with extreme prejudice if it turns out that she's evil. However, Shiro's creators didn't figure on Nanoka and the persocon falling in love...

TenShi model!!! X-D Alright, so in truth Shiro is not a robot, but a human who cruely was modeled into a 'persocon' with his special "angel" powers for this task. Accidently on Nanoka's 16th birthday Makie will remember her true nature!

What I found remarkable and what had escaped my attention (watching it earlier) is, that Ceres somehow fell in love with herself o_0; Ceres lost her Mana to Mikagi (5000 years ago), who dumped it in the ocean, afraid, that she might leave him.

On the ocean ground the Mana created Toya, driven by the instinct to find Ceres again. However he 'lost' his memory in that process, or car accident. So practically 3 minutes into the 1st episode he could have given the Mana to Aya - instead of in the end of the 24th and last episode after lots of drama and killed ppl and descendants of the 'celestial being' - had he remembered that he has/is it. Of course we could pose the question, why she, nor Ceres in Aya noticed how near-by the Mana in fact was.

>_>

<_<

Well, Toya and Aya then fell in love with each other. As Aya is somehow Ceres, Ceres fell in love with and was later impragnated by her own mana o_0

We deliberatly skip the 20 seconds part in the end where Ceres asks Mikagi if he ever truly loved her. A flowery scene where obviously all his atrocities and sick obsessions with her where supposed to be forgiven...? *Yay!* for happy ends. Obviously Ceres separated from Aya before that. Why Ceres couldn't separate Aya's brother Aki from Mikagi (who she killed) however escapes me.

Actually, I'm thinking more along the lines of Steel Angel Kurumi (Koutetsu Tenshi Kurumi), where special androids called Steel Angels are powered by 'hearts' infused with the divine power of angels, giving the Steel Angels incredible strength and agility.

Or do you mean that Shiro is a cyborg - a human brain in a persocon body that's designed to still allow him to use (or possibly even enhance) his 'celestial' powers? (I'm guessing that he's another one of those reincarnated celestial beings that seem so common in Ayashi no Ceres?) In that case, he would probably have been an agent who used to work for Kenshin's father.

If that's the case, then would Shiro remember his previous existence as a human, or would even he believe that he's just a persocon unless his hidden directives require him to take action against Nanoka? There could be blank spots in Shiro's memory when he thinks he was charging, but his hidden personality uses the downtime to get in touch with Kenshin's father to make a report and receive further orders.

This reminds me of Scrapped Princess, where it's been prophesied that the main character, Pacifica, will destroy the world when she turns 16...

Maybe Zenzo has just always been a physical incarnation of Makie's ego, so she was having sex with her love of herself? =)

In "Ayashi no Ceres" the 'descendants' are 'normal' children of Ceres' and Mikagi's bloodline. Only that they have been injected sth from Ceres' blood in hope it would turn them into full fledged celestial beings.

This "at her 16th birthday" is also a plot device in "Ayashi no Ceres". I picked it up as Nanoka's birthday has been in the back of our minds for quite a while.

"Lost memories" are a common plot device in anime/manga. Also that as dead considered characters come back for the usual plot twist. Eventually they will remember and prevent bad things to happen.

So, yes, I was thinking of Shiro more like a Cyborg. Maybe he's been another offspring of celestial Makie before she met Zenzo. Manga love to have everybody appearing related to each other o_0 OF course he does not remember, but he might - eventually *surprise*

*watches some Steel Angel Kurumi*

EDIT: That's so 200% MOE o_0;;;;;;;;;;;;

LOL, well, what if the secret is that Shiro is actually Nanoka's oniichan? He could be Zenzo's son, because Zenzo is another one of those 'celestial descendants'. That's why CEMA (the Celestial Entity Monitoring Agency) has been paying particular attention to the offspring of Zenzo and Makie, because both parents are celestial in origin (though Makie is far more potent and powerful than Zenzo, since she's an actual celestial being, not just a descendant).

'Shiro' (real name Koshiro Saeki) didn't manifest any powers as a regular human, but they scooped his brain out and put him in a persocon shell that would give him powers by enabling him to access his celestial nature more effectively. (Less 'too, too solid' human flesh to hinder and dilute his celestial energies.) The shell could also be designed with its own 'divine' power source to enhance Koshiro's abilities.

The cyberisation process was traumatic, though. Combined with hypnotic conditioning, it means that Koshiro doesn't remember who he is - or even his entire name. He only remembers 'Shiro'. =)

What's Makie's profession in the omake? Does she work at all? Is she rich?

It's just that you said that she was offered both Shiro and the villa for a very low price. Or was that just CEMA's way of getting her to take them? The house is probably riddled with cameras and microphones.

If Makie doesn't work at the beauty parlour (for all I know, she may own a chain of beauty parlours in this omake), then I was considering having Kuri as the Kohinata maid. Heck, I think I want Kuri to be the maid anyway. The idea of Kuri in a cute black-and-white maid's uniform with the frilly apron and dark stockings... Wow.

WTH did you just switch topics o_0;;;; I was like wth hash happend wasn't ther ea post just now I replied to?

Very likely CEMA had a hand in selling her the persocon and the villa... um, in case iam typing weirdly, it's 1:16, but they still are at the Sylvester warfare over here, which is slightly... disturbing *BOOOM* goes certainly no regular fire cracker o_0;;;

I think she still runs a parlour. Of course Kuri can be her maid.

I did consider Shiro as Nanoka's brother, too. Usually there is some catch involved. That the artificial angels doesn't work the way the organisations would like them, too. In "Ayashi no Ceres" those who had anti-reactions to the C-genome more or less died painfully. The others even if they transformed died two, as they couldn't handle the random powers they gained. One exploded everything in sight, another set things afire o_0;

So I think Shiro will be rather restrained... or, I guess they want him to neutralise any celestial threat CEMA cannot control.

And I dont want Kurumi o_0 It rather take the doctor, but it seems she's in love with the other doctor. i stopped at ep 8 of season 1. It's the opposite of "Ayashi" 80% moe and chibi fun with some serious stuff in the background. while Ayashi merely had the absurd Q-chan and some occasional comical relief.

Well, maybe they tried enhancing Koshiro and it crippled him, so they had to put him in a persocon body? They also built inhibitors into his programming to prevent his powers from going out of control (which might very well happen if he ever remembers who he really is).

Ah yes, Doctor Amagi was pretty sexy at the start of the show. That cold/severe look and that lovely panty shot when she was hanging from the tree. LOL

Amagi took the hanging with grandeur. And they nicely prolonged the revealing view with having more soldiers reporting in, viewed of course not from the ground, but from where she was hanging =D "Bottom view" in a manner of speaking-

And her enemy doctor looks spitting image to Alexander Howell of "Ayashi no Ceres", the lead scientist of the C-Project...

Well, it's possible that one character was an homage to the other... or that the Japanese just have a really cliched idea of what British scientists should look like?

Either he's just referring to his job as a teacher, or he refers to the boys who had just returned from their photo mission. Meaning, that he could be their "employer", or in any other way involved in this.

Oh. I thought it was pretty clear that he was talking about the 'job' of being an idol to so many cute teenage girls. I did consider having him make some sort of off-handed comment to Yukio and Masayuki about their morning's 'work', but I don't think we should reveal the true identity of Coffee Addict just yet. =)
