O-M-G, Futaba is such a weird character X-D

"...you're listening to WF ep 2! Roll'em!!!"

I never know if to better duck, or throw my arms into the air ("howling with the wolves" as we say in Germany) when ever Futaba shows up on the scene. ~q:

I guess I'll take that as a compliment. =)

I find it interesting how I initially just introduced characters like Futaba, Satsuko and Aiko in an effort to have other class members for Nanoka to interact with, but now those characters have taken on a life of their own. I do sometimes wonder what twisted part of my psyche I'm tapping into with Futaba, though...

And isn't it even more... How shall I put it? I mean somewhere in this world is a 'voice' which can reflect this 'twisted' character.

I know! Bella is a perfect Futaba; Tweetychick is a perfect Nanoka. I do sometimes marvel at how lucky we are that you got auditions from those two VAs for those characters.

Yes, there is such a thing as 'perfection within imperfection'.

I think a few comments made on Youtube about the White Feathers Radio Drama have supported this belief (like anyone should care what someone on Youtube says), but since our works usually take place in Japan anyways, I figure it as more of a...learning experience. Besides, as soon as you write a fanfic about a sick Japanese girl and her abnormal love life, you're a weeaboo :D

I don't really want to go to YouTube and see what people have said about the Japanese usage in the audio play, do I? =/

It's merely one single person who expressed that Japanese words could have been translated into English. I don't think that we need to justify to anyone, why we doing WF the way we happen to be doing it.

Oh, if it's just one person, that's okay. From what Ifrit said, I thought there was a chorus of them calling us out for being pretentious. =)

Even if there was: would it bother you? After all, it's not like they have accomplished making an audio play (which is a pretty impressive thing to achieve imo) =)

Well, I just helped write the script. Jo' is the one who does everything else - auditions the actors, gets their recordings, handles the music and sound effects, mixes the episodes in stereo and surround sound, and so on.

So any criticism of the script would be of concern to me. The production side of the audio play gets very positive comments. =)

Apropos script: in episode's 3 first scene Shiro says, that "persocons are not to be considered friends." in the next scene Nanoka hears that line in her mind. However differently from what Shiro said. I tried to cut down the original line, but it sounds kind of awkward, shall Shiro say the line again (differently), for Nanoka's mind?

I think it makes more sense if she hears exactly what he said the first time in the audio play, without any changes.

In the RP itself, I was just paraphrasing. I didn't really think about whether she was hearing Shiro's voice or her own voice saying those words.

Shiro.01.011.57
Persocons are not considered to be 'friends' by their owners. That would be inappropriate.

Shiro.01.012.01 flashback
Persocons are not considered 'friends' by their owners. Not considered 'friends'. Not 'friends'...

Narrator.01.012.02
Shiro's words kept coming back to Nanoka as she sat at Makie's computer, scouring the online gaming forums for UCFC3 combos.

Nanoka.01.012.03 Kohinata study
(internal monologue) Friends... What /are/ friends, anyway? Are Futaba-chan and I 'friends'? I think so. We haven't known each other that long, but still... we spend time together and we play games; we talk about things. That's friendship, isn't it? But... but isn't that what Shi-chan and I do together as well?

The focus is on the word "friends". What would happen if in her mind the words "that would be inapropriate" came back too?
