"We would come back for you when we were done," Cerena explained, smiling. "But I'm glad that you'll be coming with us. I think I would feel uneasy if we were separated. So yes," she decided, nodding firmly. "We will be leaving for Brigia as soon as possible, then, in an effort to get there before too much Imperial attention falls on this sector. We'll tell Josh at tonight's training session."


Out of Character: Anyone can jump in here. We don't necessarily have to go to the training session. It's possible we could jump to a few days later, with our characters noticing an increase in Imperial activity on the streets.

After his training session, Josh went outside to meditate. A couple of days had passed and the three of them were getting ready to leave Rudrig soon. The plan: heading for Brigia and acquiring as much information about the Stardrifter and 'SD-Striker' as possible.

Brigia... The name echoed in Josh's head, filling him with mixed emotions. He was looking forward to go there, but part of him was afraid of what he might find.

However, at Rudrig, change was in the air. It wasn't directly noticeable in everyday life… yet. But Josh definitely felt something was going on. He felt it. He sensed it.

As he was meditating, his eyes still closed, he heard footsteps coming closer from behind him. Judging by listening to the person’s breathing, he noticed it was Cerena.

“Do you sense it too, master?” He asked, without opening his eyes or looking up.

Cerena nodded, as she stretched her senses outward. She could feel disruption in the energies around them - undercurrents of fear and anxiety in the populace that hadn't been there a few weeks ago. Something was coming, and everyone knew it, if only on a subconscious level.

"Yes," she said, quietly. "Things are changing. I'm afraid that Rudrig will not be a safe haven for us much longer. We can only hope that Brigia will escape Imperial attention in the short term - enough to allow us to complete our investigations there."

Josh remained silent for a moment.

"The Galaxy is running out of safe havens, it seems. If the Empire already is searching in this corner of the Galaxy, things might be worse than we expected, master."

"Perhaps we need to seek refuge among others who want to avoid the Empire's attention," Cerena said, thoughtfully. "The Empire is tightening its fist; that's for certain. There may no longer be anywhere within the Empire where it is still feasible for us to remain hidden in plain sight for any great length of time. We are one of the last hopes for the Jedi - perhaps the only one. We must guard that hope, and act with caution."

Cerena's words made Josh think. The idea of leading a stealthy, concealed life somehow excited him. The past few years he had lived a quiet life as a fairly unknown person. Now, he realized that it must remain that way.

"I agree, master."

Josh opened his eyes as he got up.

"We must act quickly, then." He said as he glanced through the streets. "If the Empire ever were to find out about us, Rudrig's inhabitants might be in... danger..."

As he said those words, he realized for the very first time that becoming a Jedi may have had even more consequences than he thought. With his newly found powers came great responsibility. If the Empire would ever find out that there still were some Jedi alive, they would do anything in their power to destroy them. Innocent lives may then be lost, thousands of lives, probably even more...

Realizing the gravity of the situation, and the importance of remaining incognito, Josh's excitement had made place for anxiety.

"So... this is how it will go from now on, then..." He said, quietly, as he stared blankly in front of him. "Wherever we go, we might endanger others by our presence alone..."

Carr'Dyth stepped into the scene, with a sly satisfactory grin on his face. The kind of smile that he silently wore when he felt he had accomplished sth.

Having overheard Josh's last comment, his smile faded in disagreement. "We must not hold back, only because the empire might use the lives of others against us."

Then his smile returned and he reached behind underneath his hood, producing a modified >A280 blaster rifle<. He smiled at the welcomed fire power. The barrel had been shortened and the sight removed, in order to make it more compact.

"There was someone who owed me one." Carr explained matter-of-factly. "I think we are ready to leave now." He added confidently, as if the success of their mission depended on more fire power. "Anybody who wants it?" He asked Josh and Cerena. Not expecting either of his fellow Jedi to accept the offer anyway.
