This is one of the best role playing games out there. I don't even see it as a hentai game really. More like a interactive romance story.

KLS is definitely an example of a bishoujo game that tells a good story, first and foremost, and uses the sex scenes to enhance the storytelling. There aren't enough of those in English, in my opinion.

Most English-translated bishoujo games have 'stories' that are simply thin rationales to put the player in a situation where sex with one of the archetypal female characters might eventuate.

I feel that if I was in some situations as Taka, it probably would have been a little bit different. Like the Yumi drunk sex scene. I could imagine, I would probably be screaming rape. Although I guess it was to show that she's not some whore because she was saving herself for the one person she loved. The scene where Kana was wearing the gym clothes, I knew automatically that she was trying to seduce Taka, and I'm kind of shocked what she did after the masturbation scene. It just seemed a little out of character for her, and I could imagine Taka was feeling the same way I was during that whole scene.

Ah yes, the first Yumi sex scene. It took a long while for me to see Yumi as anything other than an arbitrary obstacle to Taka's love for Kana, especially with the way Yumi was forced on us. I certainly would have taken a 'get the hell out of the love hotel room' option if one had been given. But then there really wouldn't have been any crisis for Taka to negotiate for the rest of the game, relationship-wise.

I agree that the scenes with Kana showing a sexual interest in Taka seemed out of character from the Kana we knew... but I think that's partly the point, as well. Kana's not a complete innocent. She has the same feelings of love and desire for Taka that he has for her. So it was a good insight into a side of her character that she felt she had to keep hidden, for the same reasons that Taka did - because she felt it was wrong.

Damn straight Yumi was more than an obstacle Everyone knows there's a deep and connecting story over Yumi, don't we Darkling?

Why would she masturbate with lights on and the door standing open in the first place? And why would she moan even louder when she heard someone moving outside?

I don't think it's out of character. After having discovered the relationship between Taka and Yumi, Kana has to deal with jealousy and her usually low self-esteem might add even more intensity to that feeling. So now she finally puts all of her determination, courage and devotion to it, revealing her true feelings and willing to give her all.
Taka of course would never have expected anything like that. But that just shows that he didn't know that side of her character, although there are some scenes in the game where that's already implied beforehand. He could have known, if he had wanted to.

She's human. And she's special. Her love for Taka was wrong according to the standards of society, but nevertheless her feelings were pure and honest. Even when Kana tried to seduce Taka, she just followed her heart. Why should there be anything wrong about having sexual desires for the one person you deeply love?
