I liked it...does that count? :D

That's better (even though I saw the previous one only briefly) =)
What type of rifle is it you're using there?

I'm still not totally satisfied with it, but it is looking better. I think I'll screw around with it occasionally until I get my desired result.

As for the rifle, it's an M4 Carbine.

I think I've gotten my avatar to just about where I envisioned it. The space is managed way better in this newest iteration, no?

Yes, I definitely think this new version is better. =)

My new avatar is Ifrit!

How I got it: I was playing Cat Girl Alliance, and one of the bump cards has the main character in this pose. Using my amazing [read: limited] photoshop skills, I edited the image so it looks more like everyone's favorite manager. Be glad I edited out the original...addition to the main character's pants :D

LOL, that's awesome! It's exactly how I figured YS-Ifrit would be!

Whatever happened to anniversaries, eh? Do they mean nothing nowadays?
It's been over 1 year since we started the FTI, and nobody mentioned it...
Well, I know I'm late as well, BUT I'M STILL FIRST DAMMIT! >(

Just kidding, folks. HAPPY FTI ONE YEAR (+ a couple of days) ANNIVERSARY! :D

14.a couple of, more than two, but not many, of; a small number of; a few: It will take a couple of days for the package to get there. Also, a couple.

Besides, what would you have called it then?
Since I don't know any other steps between 'a couple' and 'a dozen', please educate me, Doctor Dark

Hm. The fact that I didn't come up with 'a week or so' myself, feels kinda unsettling for me, especially since in real life nowadays, 'weeks' ACTUALLY seem like 'a couple of days' to me -.-
Sometimes I wish there was a way to slow time...

I know what you mean. The first few months of the year always seem to go by so fast for me - it's like I blink and it's already April when I thought it was still January. About this time of year, things slow down, though. I think it's because it's almost winter down here in the southern hemisphere, so things naturally feel a bit more sluggish.

Dust off the cobwebs, it's been a long while! Still don't see an end to the hiatus, at least until I finally get that replacement hard drive :P, but I found something kind of interesting relating to Ifrit:

Dropping the honorific - referred to as yobisute (呼び捨て?) - implies a high degree of intimacy and is reserved for one's lover, younger family members, and very close friends, although within sports teams or among classmates it can be acceptable to use family names without honorifics. (thanks Wikipedia!)

I find it interesting that Ifrit's unintentionally disrespectful lack of honorifics actually has a title in Japanese. He's been pretty lucky so far, seeing as how everyone he's held conversation with is generally close enough to him for this to work. Of course, Dark and Arch, being fellow gaijin are used to it, but it could be something to explore if the series ever starts up again, and we get to YS' humble beginnings. Imagine a shy Hitomi freaked out with Ifrit's "abrupt attempts at closeness". It might even take Kana a while to get used to it :D

I guess it depends on how much experience Hitomi and Kana have had with gaijin before. I think they'd understand that these foreigners might not understand all of the implicit rules of Japanese politeness - or at least the girls would probably come to realise that fact fairly quickly.

If you had to pick a theme song for your character, what would it be? We'll discuss Kana. And plz, something other than The White Season ;)

A theme song for Darkling? Uh... um... Let me get back to you guys on that one. It's never occurred to me to think along those lines.
