I don't know, I just see it as him being human despite being a fictional character. We've all got our quirks, and we hold back somethings while we show them to others, giving us a different personality to each person we interact with.

I mean, it's not like he's come out psychotic... yet. >.>

LOL, what I actually meant to get across is that it's perfectly okay if people want to stick to writing Taka for now. I didn't see the ambiguity in what I said. I certainly don't think that Taka is coming off as schizophrenic.

What I meant is that people are having enough fun right now just writing as Taka. Trying to write from the perspective of other characters can come later, if people want to branch out that way. I don't feel any pressing need to do that, myself (though I probably will try it eventually). For now, I'm comfortable writing with Taka as the narrator.

My biggest deal is that it's been so long since I've played Kana ~Imouto~ that it's easiest to continue the role as Taka than anyone else. It's not just that most of us haven't written a KLS Fanfic, but there are those of us in the thread whom haven't even played the game at all.

Personally, I'm abit timid about stepping outside of Taka's POV because I don't want to take too much liberty with my characterization of another person's POV. I'm trying to keep with the current story flow and not destroy the miniverse that we've created/carried-on in this particular fic.

And so help me, if you introduce another new character in your next instalment, I will strangle you. =P

Whoa hey...:D I thought we were all about bringing chars in so ppl could interact with em ^^ Hell, I enjoy watching Yumi getting bitchslapped as much as the next Kana fan boy out there! Set the pins up and knock em down! ;)

On the serious side though, is everyone just happy to keep with the Takamichi-Kana thing all the way through till they're out of the hospital or are we looking for winding bends in the road to make this different to where the game headed? Kudoes to Kamajii for getting Takamichi out of the room and Miki involved but if we just want to dote on Kana for now, I'm not going to affect location in my next post. And NO Dark - I WON'T bring a screaming Cana tearing down the halls who trips and hurts herself JUST outside Kana's room before she cries her eyes out...chased by the other 3 member of 'The Big Four'. Though it's tempting, just see the look on your face :D

I understand that fun is what we're looking for here, so I have no problem with everyone RPing Takamichi in turn while they're enjoying themselves but I don't think it'd hurt to have a general direction of some sort either so we have something to move towards. So do we want bumps and turns on the road, or do we cruise? As mentioned, I'm staying out of Takamichi's head for now - quite a few fingers in that pie already methinks! :D

Oh yeah, We're about a quarter way through our 50 posts and I can easily see this thing going past a hundred already BTW :D

The way I see it, the majority of our writers are just starting out. Some have written other things before; some haven't. They seem to be enjoying what we've been doing so far. And that's the point.

Continuing with the driving analogy, a beginning driver wants a nice smooth road so they can concentrate on their basic skills. They'll get a certain amount of satisfaction from that.

You and I may not find what we're doing to be much of a stretch, but for others who haven't written before - either Kana fanfics or anything - writing collaboratively has already added another level of complexity to the project.

And so I don't think we currently need to 'shake things up' all the time. We may end up writing fics like that in future (with constant twists in almost every instalment), when what we're currently doing isn't interesting enough for people anymore. But for now, it seems to be fine.

(That's not to say that I think the rest of this story should be played out in Kana's hospital room. I plan to get Taka out of there in my next post, if someone hasn't done it already by then.)

But I see our role more as gentle guidance. If you feel that the story should get out of Kana's room, then take it out of Kana's room. But I think that throwing in twists all the time makes writing the next instalment seem daunting, and that's the last thing I want this to be.

I don't really mind if this story doesn't get where it's going. (I'm well aware that so far we've covered perhaps one or two hours of a projected two-week storyline.) It's a trial run, and the point of the whole WAFFO project is just 'to have fun', not particularly to produce anything 'different' or of literary merit.

Most of the people contributing are finding enough challenge in just continuing the story, even without the twists and turns. If that means we're basically retreading the game's storyline, then so be it. That just means that this story isn't an alternate universe - it's just a 'slice of life'. And that's fine too. There are plenty of future projects where we can go down any road we like. We don't have to do everything in this one.

Hmm, I'm not even talking about anyone's writing ability here :P I think everyone's doing a great job and deserves some credit for what they've posted and where they've taken the story! In a sense, I'm inclined to think that this is actually easier in a sense because in essence, we're working WITH other people and not AGAINST them :)

There's no adhering to one particular style here: everyone's going with what they feel most comfortable with and sharing out the workload to move the story along. We look at what's been said before hand in terms of the story and just add another snippet to the bottom in reply. We've all done well and I don't really think anyone's struggling to keep up (apart from me in terms of speed because it takes me so damn long to get one post out :P).

Nah, it's not a case of 'Rattling the cage' or 'Shaking things up'. It's more about options. Yuta came into the story and yes he left in a hurry, but he's had an emotional impact on Takamichi that lasted through a few posts. Yumi came into the story similarly and once again, she's had a BIG emotional impact on him for a bit after. It's not like we're looking at sucking time that Takamichi has with Kana away (They're trying to have a chat), but in the end, like you said - we ARE having fun and that's what's important.

I'm not looking at these at challenges or obstacles, I'm looking at them as bends and forks in the road which I think everyone's handled more than well :)

I don't think there's been any need for handholding in this :) Taka was dealt with by Sideris, Yumi was dealt with by Jpop, Kamajii went to the point of getting Takamichi into Miki's room. Nothing's really gotten beyond any of us here, all under control yeah? :) And like I said before, they're NOT Twists, they're options. We can choose to talk to Yumi more or we can choose to ignore her or flare up at her, kinda like the thing at the Matsuri where they last met and she trips - Catch her by the hand or let her eat dirt? Up to the person who posts - Jpop did a fine job ^^

Fine by me to walk the path most trodden :) But I think everyone's done a fine job regardless what they've posted, and maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone's struggling from what we've put out. Anyway, I'm going to start laying down more straight track rather than forks from now so let's go!

...oh...damn...can't post till someone else does...darn...>.>

Sorry, I meant to specify that some of us are beginner writers, and some of us are beginner Kana writers. I did mention it a couple of paragraphs later, but it got lost in the shuffle.

What one post freeze? You're free to post an instalment, as far as I can tell. We've had four instalments since you last posted one.

He's right, and if I am recalling correctly... it's two installments in-between yours before you can post another installment again. So at the time of this: jpop4life, Ko-chan, and myself are up.

Also, Ko-chan, this site here uses bbcode and not html. So if you want to italicise something you'll have to use [] instead of <>
eg:
Code:
[i]This will italicise.[/i]

Code:
<i>And this will not.</i>

Edit: I suppose I could post so that Darkling can go again >.>

It's not your fault, Sideris. I'm overly sensitive to the thought that I'm being inconsiderate, so I tend to overreact to that kind of thing. I don't like offending people.

Likewise - That makes two of us ;)

Kamajii: I realise that...I get a little absent minded because I always tend to edit my posts in Notepad with raw html before uploading to FFN :P

No worries, was only reminding/informing incase you didn't know. ^.^ Wolfson, Darkling, and some others had the same habits at first when they posted their fanfictions into the system.

13.

Sleep stills seems so far away even though I'm so tired. The covers are more than warm but I'm still curled up tight under them.

Onii-Chan read me a story about his friends and himself again and I pretended to fall asleep. Hours have passed since he left but there's still so much running around inside my head.

He wasn't himself when he came back from Miki's office and...there was that girl outside the room when he opened the door. I hope she didn't see me peeking from behind the curtain when Onii-Chan came in. As much as I couldn't see too well, I'm sure it's the same one from the Matsuri back in summer.

The whimper escapes me as I tighten my arms about my knees, recalling his voice...that tone.

I trust Onii-Chan because he said he'd take care of me no matter what, but...he's so scary when he's like that. Still, I trusted him enough...enough to even dare to hug him after he told...no..ordered me to be strong today...and thank goodness, my old Onii-Chan came back. We could enjoy ourselves after that just talking again but all the scary thoughts came flooding straight back after he left.

Who was that outside before? Unlike me, she's so pretty, and that Kimono she was wearing that day was so beautiful, I haven't forgotten it in the months past. But both times I've seen her, she has that sad look, that hurt composure, and both times it's been after Onii-Chan met her. She makes him so angry, so scary: I've never heard him as cold as when he spoke to her outside the room...why? Is it because of me?

This part of the sheet is soaked from dabbing at my eyes and I throw it off to breathe again. The thoughts are still wild in my mind and I'm still trying to understand. Maybe it's because he wants to spend time with another girl...and go places with them rather then just spending all his time in a hospital with his sick little sister...but I'm in the way.

He must hate it when they ask to be with him, but he can't...because of me and then he takes it out on them? It's not fair to him...not fair to her...it's not fair to them or anyone at all.

He does everything for me...and all I can do is just try to be as little of a burden as possible...it's so selfish of me. I HAVE to get better to go home...and just hope that I'll never do anything that will cause him to talk to me with that voice.

My eyes open, and the snow has stopped for just a moment outside. The moon peeks out from behind a dark cloud for a moment to illuminate that book that Miki lent me before on the window sill, then hides again...just like me earlier.

But this time...I smile...there's always his other voice, the one I love to hear so much and I'll never forget when he said he'd never hurt or hate me...I trust him, I always will: Because people that truly care about you always keep their promises. People like Onii-Chan and Miki-Chan.
