Kana: WAFFO! (Write A Fun Fanfic Online!)
GuidelinesThe Kana: WAFFO project is a chance for writing-inclined
Kana Little Sister fans to participate in a collective writing experience. Here's how it'll all work.
Story* The 'creator' (the person whose idea we're writing) will create a new topic to announce the premise, tone and direction of the story, and post the first instalment.
* Each story will have an accompanying discussion topic.
* The creator can also list exclusions - things they don't want included in the story. Contributors who want to include those elements will have to argue their case in the discussion topic first.
* The story will end by general consensus, or when locked (see below).
* Only one story will be active at a time. Stories will be locked when completed/abandoned.
* If the story goes for five days without any instalments being posted, Darkling or the creator are free to lock it, and a new story can be started. (The creator will need to send a private message to Darkling asking to have the topic locked.)
* Crossovers with other properties have to be discussed in the WAFFO general discussion topic first, to make sure that everyone who wants to contribute has at least some knowledge of the other property.
Posting instalments* There are no 'turns', but you can't post another instalment until at least one other person has posted an instalment. (This may change to 'two other instalments' if we have a large group of writers contributing.)
* Each story instalment should have the instalment number at the start. It should be:
- bold
- text size = 'Huge'
- in a distinctive colour (not red or green).
For example: 1.
* An instalment can be up to 1000 words long.
* You may use the OOC (out of character) tag to post explanatory notes at the start or end of your instalment. However, save any substantial discussion for the associated discussion topic.
* Also, for the sake of continuity, please don't change major plot details in your instalment after posting. Spelling and grammar can be fixed, of course.
Arbitration* If an issue arises, Darkling or the creator (The Powers That Be) will say STOP. No-one should post any further instalments until the issue has been resolved. Wait for TPTB to say GO before posting any more instalments.
* If the story idea was created by the group in general, Darkling will have sole STOP/GO privileges for that particular story.
* Posts that are not in keeping with the proposed direction and tone of the story can be vetoed and removed by TPTB. This includes posts that are disruptive to the storyline and/or to the communal interpretation of events and characters for that story. TPTB are the final arbiters of what is considered to be 'disruptive'.
* If two people post contradictory instalments at the same time, the story will be stopped. If the instalments aren't contradictory, they'll be renumbered and both will remain part of the story. Otherwise, the person who posted their instalment most recently will have to withdraw their instalment.
