As Darkling already mentioned over here, there's a webcomic created by a KLS fan to be found here; but since it's all in Japanese, the text has remained a mystery to us until now.

After developing a little confidence while studying Japanese - or should I rather call it hubris? -, I started to translate the text of this comic a while ago. Well, let's phrase it this way: soon enough I realized that there's still a lot for me to learn. But since Gotō-san was so nice to check my translations, as well as pointing out the correct kanji to me now and then (since suffering from myopia caused me some problems in trying to figure out the more complicating ones), finally I managed to come up with a translation that should not be too far away from the actual meaning.

It will probably take some time, but I plan to put the translation up here bit by bit, and maybe you can suggest some improvements, as my English expression surely isn't perfect yet.

Great idea, Bookworm! I've wanted to know what was happening in that webcomic for years now.

I don't remember if it's possible to link to each specific page of the webcomic - it had a weird sort of navigation system, if I recall correctly. But it'll certainly be nice to be able to have the page and the translation open in separate tabs, and refer back and forth. =)

As far as I can see, there's no way to link to the pages of the comic separately, although this might be due to my lack of technical understanding. But at the bottom of the website you can find a navigation bar. To get to a desired page directly, you can either enter the number of the page you are looking for in the input field to the right (where it says "0/33"), or you may click at the microscopically small buttons to the left (above the link reading "SEO") - there should be something like "javascript:Jump(1)" appearing in your status bar.

Based on the pictures alone, I'd say it's about (a part of) the intellectual route. Now that Bookworm is 'on the case', we might find out what it's about for sure =)

Actually the story is a mixture of elements taken from both routes, combining parts of the intellectual route with those from the normal one. But the author also added ideas he made up on his own, and noticeably changed some of the scenes taken from the game.

僕には「加奈」という名前の、
２つ年の離れた妹がいた。
加奈は病弱で、
小さな頃から入院と退院を
繰り返す毎日を送っていた。
両親はそういった妹に
かかりっきりになることが多く、

憎むべき存在」でしかなかった。

I had a sister called Kana, who was two years younger than me.
Because Kana was sick, since her childhood she was hospitalized and discharged from hospital time and time again.
Since my parents mostly cared only about my little sister, to me as a child Kana was nothing but "a hateful being, that takes my parents away from me".

しかしある日のこと、家族で出かけた
ハイキングの最中に起こった事件がきっかけで
加奈に対する感情は変化した。
「絶対に守ってあげなくちゃいけない。
兄である自分が・・・」
以来、僕は幼い頃に誓った心のままに、
妹である加奈を守り、
そして彼女の幸せを祈っていた。
かつてあれほど加奈を大事にしていた両親が
「過保護すぎる」と心配するほどに、
大事に、大切に加奈を見守り続けてきた。
そして僕たちが踏み越えた先に
もう路は、つづいていなかった・・。

But one day, while we were gone hiking with our family, something happened that changed my feelings towards Kana.
"I have to protect her by all means. I'm her big brother..."
Henceforth, as I had promised with all my heart as a child, I protected my little sister Kana and wanted her to be happy.
Finally I cared so much about Kana that my parents feared that "I cared too excessively for her", so much that I continued to watch over her carefully.
And then the way we had taken before did not continue any more...

I've had a go at creating a scanlation of the first page. I changed some of the translation to make it a bit smoother; I hope it's still in keeping with the original Japanese content.

Yes, I have to agree with Ifrit, that looks really good. And since the translation I made up unquestionably is a little clumsy at times, it can only profit by the changes you applied to the wording here and there.

Is the character behind Taka's back in panel 5 supposed to be a sound effect?

That doesn't look like a character to me - I'd say it's just a line indicating the direction of the movement, as Miki grabs Taka's arm and pulls him along.
